Sr. Electrical Engineer - Power Plant - Muskogee Mill
Position creates value through developing complete asset strategies and leading projects associated with electrical reliability improvement at the Muskogee Mill Power Plant. The successful candidate will work directly with Power Plant leadership, maintenance planning and operations staff toward implementing asset strategies associated with PLC and DCS process controls of boilers, turbines and plant auxiliaries. This individual will also serve as the main resource for electrical and instrumentation maintenance personnel during troubleshooting activities. The candidate will actively share knowledge with process controls engineers, reliability engineers and project engineers throughout the company as necessary to expeditiously role out cutting edge initiatives. This individual will demonstrate a visible sense of initiative, judgment, and organization while managing multiple projects, objectives, and deadlines.
Expectations/Responsibilities of Role:
Maximize value to Georgia-Pacific through the practice of Market Based Management (MBM) Guiding Principles, utilization of the Reliability Excellence Mental Model, and Small Project Work Processes to continually improve plant performance.
Assure electrical systems and logic designs are compliant with NFPA while striving for further excellence in safety.
Evaluate long-term needs including instrumentation, process controls and supervisory controls improvement projects.
Manage Condition Based Monitoring functions: vibration equipment, loop diagnostics, motor performance, and other functions as assigned.
Develop Decision Making Framework to a level that reveals best proposition, opportunity costs and alternatives
Manage the Power Plant's long term electrical and process controls maintenance strategy and capital planning process.
Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving process and equipment issues.
Develop project scopes and work packages for electrical and instrumentation crafts.
Manage activities of contact engineers and technical representatives when utilized.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering with 5 years of experience.
Must have process control system, electrical power and diagnostic program experience
Knowledge - Skills:
Power Plant experience is desired .
Knowledge of Bailey Infi-90 DCS, Wood Micronet Governor and Allen Bradley PLC is a plus.
Clear understanding of (and work) experience with assessing safety and reliability risk.
Experience working in a team environment with a cooperative work style
Have solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, and Project.
